The SSMA (Subminiature version A) RF connector is a scaled-down variant of the well-known SMA connector. Engineered to operate efficiently at frequencies up to 35 GHz and beyond (some models extend to 40 GHz), SSMA connectors are prized for their compact size, mechanical robustness, and reliable electrical performance.
Unlike standard SMA connectors, the SSMA features a smaller diameter and a 10-36 threaded coupling mechanism, making it ideal for high-density installations where space is at a premium. This miniaturization does not compromise performance; rather, it enhances the connector's ability to handle higher frequency signals with low insertion loss and excellent voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR).
